BMW retains the title

BMW retained the title of world’s biggest luxury carmaker, annual sales figures released.

Sales of BMW’s core brand reached 1.91 million in 2015 on strong demand for sports utility vehicles like the X5, a 5.2 percent rise from the year-earlier period and the 11th year in a row since the Munich-based carmaker clinched the title in 2005.

In 2014, BMW sold 1.81 million BMW-branded cars, while rival Audi took second place, delivering 1.74 million vehicles.
