Iceland tops a ranking of the world’s biggest “energy gluttons” at 18,774 kg of oil equivalents per capita, beating big oil and gas producers such as Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago and Kuwait, as oilprice.com was somewhat surprised to discover.

With most of Iceland’s energy coming from hydroelectric and geothermal power, Icelanders are some of the planet’s least energy-conscious.
