Chatpate Matar (Kulcha Chhole)


1.White Peas (Matar) – ½ kg

1.Onion – 2 Big

1.Tomatoes – 3 Big

1.Green Chilies – 3

1.Black Salt – 1 tsp

1.Red Chili Powder – ¾ tsp

1.Garam Masala – ½ tsp

1.Salt – To taste

1.Coriander Sauce/Chutney – 2 tsp

1.Roasted Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp

1.Coriander Leaves – 2 tbsp

1.Ginger – 2”

1.Mango Powder (Amchoor) – ½ tsp

1.Ground Pomegranate (Anardana Powder) – ½ tsp

1.Tamarind Pulp – 2 tsp


1.Boil white matar(Peas) with 2 cups of water in a cooker (1 whistle only).

1.Chop ginger, onion, green chilies, coriander leaves and tomato.

1.Take matar in a bowl. Add chopped ginger, onion, green chilies, coriander leaves and tomato.

1.Now put salt, amchoor, garam masala, anardana, red chili powder, Roasted Cumin Seeds and Black Salt.

1.Add coriander chutney, tamarind pulp. Mix well.

1.Serve with Kulchas or Chapati


“Chatpata Matar/Chhole with onion tomato and ginger. These are usually eaten with Kulcha. It is a famous dish in northern India.
