Narendra Modi has fired BJP campaign in Himachel Pradesh by addressing 3 large meetings. Referring to the electoral visits of the prime minister and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to the state, Modi said both of them had avoided talking about important issues like corruption and price rise.
In his scathing attack, Modi said the Congress symbolised corruption which, he said, was apparent in the recent cabinet reshuffle in which “incompetent and corrupt” ministers were rewarded. Sighting one instance, he said Shashi Tharoor who was removed due to corrupt practices, was back as minister. Similarly, there have been charges of financial irregularity against Salman Khrushid , yet he was given an important portfolio of foreign affairs, he added.
Taking on Virbhadra Singh, Modi said he was removed from the Union cabinet in June following corruption charges but the party reinstated him as the state Congress chief within two months.
While taking potshots at the government on the issue of corruption, Modi also took a direct dig at Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra’s alleged involvement in illegal land deals.
