Anupam Gupta, lawyer and close friend of Ashok Khemka, the IAS officer who was transferred after ordering a probe into the land deals between Robert Vadra and DLF, has claimed that the officer is “demoralised” as he has “for the first time got serious death threats”.
Confirming about the threats to Khemka, his lawyer friend said that he had offered full support to the IAS officer both personally and legally in case the issue goes to court of law.
The CPM has also demanded a probe into the the transfer of senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka, who had ordered a probe into the land deals between Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra and realty major DLF. Senior CPM leader Sitaram Yechury said that party wanted a thorough probe into the allegations of corruption as well as the transfer of the officer.
Senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad has said that the transfer of IAS officer Ashok Khemka is not a result of a witch hunt. “There is no substance in the allegations,” Hariprasad added.
The Opposition has stepped up pressure for an independent inquiry into the land deal between Robert Vadra and DLF. Former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala has threatened to move court. “There is no question of a fair investigation under the Congress. The matter has to be taken to court for a fair trial. Khemka’s revelations will be applauded. It is not possible for the CBI or the state government to hold an independent probe on Vadra,” Chautala said.
